CLASSICAL CIVILISATION COURSES:
With Heather Sebo / Saul Bastomsky
All classes are held on Thursday afternoons 1– 3pm

MAKE LOVE NOT WAR - ARISTOPHANES' LYSISTRATA
It's 411 BCE and the Peloponnesian war rages between Athens, Sparta and the other Greek city states with no end in sight.  So a coalition of women led by the beautiful Lysistrata decide (reluctantly!) that there is nothing else for it - they must unite in a sex strike until their men stop fighting.  This proves easier said than done.  Lysistrata has her work cut out to stop the women from deserting the cause.  uproariously funny, ribald and ripe with innuendo but ultimately tender about relationships between the sexes, Aristophanes' Lysistrata is an anti-war play with a difference.

Starts October 8
4x 2 hours
Cost $60.00

APOLLO AND HERMES: BOW, LYRE AND CADUCEUS
We read the Homeric Hymn to Hermes and the Hymn to Apollo, both sons of Zeus but very different divinities.

Cost $75.00
