Executive Officer
(Part Time – 25 -30 hours per week over 5 days) 

Background Information
The Ashburton Community Centre (ACC) is a friendly, vibrant and busy, community based neighbourhood house within the City of Boroondara.

The ACC’s vision is to provide inspiration, growth and enjoyment. Our primary focus is to offer an extensive range of programs, activities and services that help enhance community connectedness, well-being and involvement for locals and others close by.

The ACC is a not for profit, incorporated association governed by a volunteer Committee of Management that provides governance structure and strategic direction.

The Executive Officer is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Centre. The role is assisted by a part time Marketing Officer and two administrative assistants (job share roles) plus contracted bookkeeper and cleaner. Our tutors are employed on a sessional basis.

The income of the organisation includes user pay fees, room hire revenue, recurrent funding from the City of Boroondara and periodic grants as applied for to assist with particular projects.

The office is currently open 9.00am to 4.00pm Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and 9.00am to 2.30pm Tuesday and Friday.

Located in busy High Street Ashburton, the Centre’s spaces are beautifully light and bright, having undergone a complete redevelopment in 2013.  The building, at 160 High Street, is shared with the Ashburton Library.

The Role
The Executive Officer is responsible for the effective and efficient management of the Centre’s operations and will provide leadership and customer service that inspires a welcoming, friendly and supportive atmosphere. The Executive Officer oversees all other positions including Centre staff, tutors, contractors and volunteers.

The Executive Officer must be a friendly, welcoming leader who is outgoing and comfortable with all personalities.

The Executive Officer will provide support to the Committee of Management in their role, including provision of advice in relation to statutory obligations, policies, procedures, employees and financial matters.

Remuneration for this role is in accordance with the NHACE Collective Agreement Award 2010.
