The Foreign Film Group – ‘Taxi Tehran’ (2015)
Showing Wednesday April 5, 2017
About the film: When you are a filmmaker and you are not allowed to direct movies any more, you have to retrain. So why not become a taxi driver? Or better yet, why not pretend you are a taxi driver and make a film despite everything? This is what Jafar Panahi has done. Now he invites you to get into his cab and ride through the streets of Tehran with him.
Have you been to a film night at the Ashburton Community Centre?
A different foreign film is held at 7pm on the first Wednesday of every month with everyone welcome to attend. The film is shown in the Copland Room followed by a discussion with light refreshments. Cost is only $10 each film night.
