Governance

Neighbourhood and Community Centres are run by the community for the community, providing an essential foundation for civic participation.

The Ashburton Community Centre is governed by a voluntary Committee of Management, who are members of the local community, centre participants and interested persons. This Committee is an important part of our volunteer base, integral to the decision-making, evaluation, provision and direction of our Centre. It continues to work hard to ensure our financial viability and compliance with all legislative statutory and contractual obligations and requirements in addition to endorsing our strategic and policy framework. It meets monthly, delegating the day-to-day management of the Centre to the Executive Officer.
